Let me go ahead and tell y'all. This week's been good to me. Busy at work, lazy at home, and perfect. I had a three day weekend, plus got off at 3:30 last Friday, so it was the perfect break from the work flow.

I watched 35 episodes of Gilmore girls within two days, and I am not ashamed. I've actually watched almost three full seasons in the past week, and I'm totally okay with that. The series is so good and fun and heartfelt and I love it. I'm currently on season 6, so I'm going to be really sad when I finish the entire series, but so glad I watched it. Who has suggestions for which finished show to binge watch on Netflix next?

Andre and I walked almost six full miles on Monday. We have a trail that runs through our entire city called the Greenbelt, and we walked it for a good two hours at a leisurely pace. It was a great day, not too hot. (We also saw the most adorable baby armadillos).



I've continued with my plank challenge through week two, and decided to participate in the Blogger Booty Challenge for June. I've already started doing my 100 squats per day.

I've finally learned how to fishtail braid my hair, which I'm beyond excited for because I plan on possibly fishtailing my hair for the wedding. Also, it's so a pretty way to braid!


We've picked out our first dance song, and I'm really really excited about it. I know it's still four months away, but I'm so happy with the song. I listen to it on repeat and get all the feels every. single. time.

I received my fourth StudioWedBox this week, which was honeymoon-themed. Andre and I haven't figured out the logistics yet, but I'm pretty sure we aren't flying anywhere. We'll probably do something small and road trip this year and maybe do something larger for our first anniversary. This box was pretty cool because it included lots of airplane essentials, as well as a fun bonus item (notice I tore at the bonus item without thinking before taking the picture).


The Sky Ready Kit included an eye mask (to sleep comfortably), ear plugs (no crazy noises), a face mask (to prevent sickness), surface wipes (to clean the area around you), hand sanitizer (self explanatory), and  vitamin C (to support a healthy immune system). This kit includes everything needed for a healthy flight. I really like this kit and imagine it would great for someone who does a lot of travelling. While we may not be flying for our honeymoon, we may take flights later and this would come in really handy.

The help I'm tired kit includes caffeine pills, and while I may not use these for a special occasion, these could come in really handy in my life. This kit includes 8 pills. (On another note, feel free to browse the website, it's pretty funny.)

I'll be honest. I would never spend $6 (+$5 shipping) for The Laundress Wash & Stain Bar, but it really would have came it very handy when I took my trip to Texas last year. I spilled a loaded Philly down my white and black striped tank top. However, that wasn't the last time I spilled something on myself, so I'm sure I will get definite use out of this bar. Plus, it smells so fresh!

The Keep Calm and Fly Away luggage tag is cute, yes, but feels so flimsy. It's made out of cheap plastic with a rubber band like strap. This would definitely get broken in flight, I'm pretty sure of it. I prefer a silicone-like luggage tag because it's bendable and won't break.

And now, for the bonus item...

...this absolutely adorable Kate Aspen decorative photo frame is so freaking cute! It's also listed as a place holder on the website, which would work great because it is a tiny picture frame (It could maybe hold a wallet-size photo). I love this frame and plan to use it on my desk at work.


What I've come to realize is that, although when you start your subscription you are asked to give information and descriptions of your wedding, the StudioWed team doesn't really take that into account. While I wouldn't say my wedding is "rustic," it is very whimsical and woodsy. This frame, along with other items I've received, don't play to that at all. I did enjoy this box very much, but I still think that what I'm paying each month isn't what I'm really receiving.

I'm not generally a fan of low-fat or low-carb or low-sugar, but I tried two flavors of Weight Watchers ice creams, and they were actually really good.


When buying these, I chose flavors that Andre and I could both enjoy. I love coffee, so dang much, so I figured I'd love the latte ones, and the peanut butter caramel ones looked like Snickers, so why the heck wouldn't I try them?

I was in love with the peanut butter caramel bars. They really did taste just like the Snickers ice cream bars, but not as hard. In fact, they were oddly soft to be low-fat. We ate all of these up in just days, and I would no doubt buy these again.

The latte tasted fine. They had a soft coffee taste to them that were really good. The consistency was off though. They were very creamy, which also made them very soft and they felt like they were going to melt in your hand. I would have preferred that they were more solid, like a fudgesicle. I plan on blending these up with some coffee and milk cubes to make a frappucino of sorts.

Overall, I'm really impressed with the Weight Watchers ice creams. They are low calorie, but taste great! I'd buy them again, and I'd love to try different flavors as well.

I received my monthly Graze box last week, and it was a 50-50 box. I'm a pretty picky eater, so if you've noticed, I generally only like about half of what is in my boxes. It's not that I would say the things I get are nasty; they just aren't up my alley.



I was excited about the snacks that were included when I first opened the box, but I've come to realize, I don't like anything called chutney.


The Blueberry Crumble Granola Yogurt Topper was absolutely delicious. I ate it alone, and not on top of yogurt or anything else. I really enjoyed it by itself, but also think it would taste great on a fruit-on-the-bottom yogurt. Rating: Like.


The Popping Corn with a Twist of Black Pepper was also really awesome. It wasn't buttered and it was whole grain, but it was so good, and the pepper really contributed to it's unique taste. Rating: Love.


I wasn't a huge fan of the Beach Bum. It was a mixture of dried pineapple, banana and coconut. The bananas were really chewy, like gum, and I hated them. The pineapple wasn't terrible, but I also wasn't a fan of the unsweetened coconut. Rating: Trash.


Bleh. That's the best way to describe the Fruity Mango Chutney. The "chutney" was grossly sweet and chunky, and even the black pepper dippers weren't very tasty. I literally threw this away. Rating: Trash.

I mentioned a few weeks ago that I received my Spring Walmart Beauty Box. I finally got around to trying most of the products, and I've got to say I'm pretty impressed. Generally, the items come is one-time use sample sizes, but the occasional travel-size or full size product will be included as well. Coupons are provided for most or all samples included in the box.


John Frieda Luxurious Volume shampoo and conditioner: After using this, my hair looked incredibly shiny and felt very soft. My hair was very fluffy and way fuller than usual. If I was the kind of person to "splurge" on shampoos and conditioners, these are definitely worth the $6 a bottle.

L'oreal Color Vibrancy shampoo, conditioner and instant shock treatment cream: I love the way this made my hair look and feel. Every strand was soft, smooth, and shiny, without looking greasy. Ironically, my hair's only color-treated on the tips.

Nivea Nourishing In-Shower Body Lotion: This wasn't terrible. It actually made my skin pretty soft, but didn't keep them moisturized all day like I thought it maybe would.

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation: I really liked the way this foundation made my skin look from a comfortable distant. Up close,  you could see the make up in my pores, which I didn't like. It looked nice for my overall look, though.


Lady Gaga Fame fragrance: I love the smell of this. It's smells delectable. Floral, but almost woodsy at the same time. Plus, the scent lasted throughout most the day.


Schwarzkopf Essence Ultime Omera Repair & Moisture shampoo and conditioner: I love how this makes my hair look. It doesn't get greasy after the first day (I usually wash my hair every 2-3 days), and it keeps it so soft and voluminous. The shampoo has an odd smell, like sunscreen, which makes me wonder what's in it. It also doesn't get very sudsy, so I feel like I have to use extra to get all of my hair. Overall, though, I love how my hair feels afterwards.

Dove Go Fresh Revitalize body wash: This smells like creamsicles, but made my body feel oddly dry afterwards. I didn't like it.

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Boosters facial cleanser: This facial cleanser made my face feel really smooth, soft and clean afterwards. I didn't notice any major changes to my skin, but it worked well overall.

Dove Pure Care Dry Oil for Hair: I put this stuff on the ends of my hair and rolled it up into a bun before I went to sleep. Bad idea, it made my hair look so stringy and greasy. After brushing it out and straightening it, it ended up not looking so bad, and my hair felt really healthy.


Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes: I love these, and will probably buy them in the future. They're thick enough where you can thoroughly use both sides to clean your makeup off. Plus, they didn't leave my skin feeling sticky like other wipes do.


Hard Candy All Glossed Up Hydrating Lipstain in Red Minx: I love this stuff. It is hands down my favorite thing from the box, and it's full-sized! It's very glossy when first applying, but I typically blot and I'm good to go for most of the day. The lipstain truly is moisturizing and stays on most of the day. I generally touch up after eating, but other than that, the color stays on so well and doesn't bleed. Plus, the color is universally beautiful. I plan to buy this in a couple of other colors.


Rimmel Lash Accelerator mascara in black: This mascara really gets the job done. It made my eyelashes very long and dark, but not very thick. It also went on very smooth, so there were virtually no clumps! The mascara was, however, a very wet mascara, which took too long to dry. I keep it in my purse now, as a back up, but it's definitely not my mascara first-choice.

In the words of Pitbull, every day above ground is a great day. It's true. Here are some of the great things that happened above ground this week.

I got to celebrate not only my mom, but Andre's mom, and all moms. I spent Saturday with my mom. We went thrift shopping and got some Mexican food. Sunday, we went to church with Andre's mom, and took her out to lunch. Andre had to work that evening, but overall, it was great to spend time with both of our moms.

I won a neat little prize pack at work. It had some neat stuff in it, and if you know me, you know I've got a ton of school spirit! I can't wait to hang up my pennant.


I got an oil change. I know, it's weird to be excited about, but I'm always glad when I can get some needed car maintenance done.

In addition, I washed my car! Unfortunately, I park under some trees at home, so I swear my car is now dirtier than it was before I washed it.

I got some good news at work. It's nothing major, but I don't want to say anything yet and jinx myself. So hopefully, I'll be able to share next week!

I love a good maxi, whether it be a skirt or dress. Once the weather begins to warm up, it is my go to closet staple. I have several maxi skirts and dresses in my closet, ranging from basics to dressy, from solids to prints.

One of my favorite ways to wear a maxi, skirt or dress, is with a loose-fitting, tied up t-shirt. The look is so simple, and so comfortable. It's my go-to for casual Fridays at the office, and the weekends. To keep it simple, I usually pair it with sandals, a high bun and a lipstick-only makeup routine.

Shirt: Kohls (Similar). Maxi Skirt: Kohls (Same style, different color). Sandals: Target (Similar).

Depending on how you style, maxis are also the perfect option for the high volume of summer weddings.

This week has gone by surprisingly fast, and was once again, quite uneventful. But let's discuss the happiness of the week!

I got a new phone, got my own phone plan (for the very first time, and with Andre), and felt really grown up about it. To be exact, I got the iPhone 6 Plus, which I am in love with already!

I've been working on my abs all week, and they have not stopped being sore yet, but I feel like that means I'm making progress. Here's to tight abs by September!

New tv shows have been announced for May, including a new Shondaland show, a show called Wicked City with Ed Westwick (Chuck Bass to all you Gossip Girl fans), and one called The Family (with precious Matt Saracen/Zach Gilford from Friday Night Lights). Y'all, I love tv shows, so I'm super excited.
Sidenote: in sad tv news, The Mindy Project was cancelled, but Hulu may pick it up.

I recently received my newest StudioWedBox, and it was quite... empty, to say the least.


1. Jack Black Post Shave Cooling Gel and and Supreme Cream Shave Lather: First off, who names a luxury shave line "Jack Black"? Secondly, this may last Andre one or two shaves. For the amount I'm paying for this box, I would expect full-size products.

2. This Mainstreet Collection makeup pouch looks really cute, and it a pretty good size to throw in your bag. However, you can't even view products online without creating an account, which is really frustrating. Also, the bag quality is not high. It feels like something you could purchase at the Dollar Tree.

3. I really like these Happy Socks Five Color socks. They're originally $12 but are on sale for $8.40 right now. Generally, I wouldn't pay that much for one pair of socks, but I'm willing to spend more for a special occasion, like my wedding day! These are really soft and well-made.

4. These Glass Pearl studs from Amy O Jewelry are gorgeous, but I can't wear them since my ears are stretched. They could be a nice gift for bridesmaids or my mom/Andre's mom.

Overall, I didn't feel that this box was worth what I spend each month, and I am once again left unsatisfied with my subscription.
