I talk all the time about how busy I am. Between grad school, full-time work, being a wife, and blogging, I hardly have any time to do anything. Sometimes I don't feel like I'm going to get through the stress and the assignments. I just want to sleep and not do anything at all. Anyone else ever feel that way?

Yeah. I thought so.

But I end up getting through it, alive and kicking. But how? I make sure to stay active, healthy, I multitask, and take me-time. Continue reading to see what my seven most helpful tips are to make it through the days, one day at a time.

Get active at lunch.
Whether you have just 30 minutes or an hour, you can get some activity in during your lunch break. Back away from the computer. Take a walk, close your office door and do some yoga, or if you have a gym near your job, get in a quick session. Other no-brainer ways to get in activity include always taking the stairs, walking to meetings or lunch instead of driving, and getting up at least hourly to visit a coworker or grab some water.

While you're at it, try multitasking.
I really love to read, and I tend to take a book to the gym when I hop on the elliptical for 30 minutes or so.* That way, I'm getting in the dreaded workout while doing something else I actually want to do at the same time.
*Be careful. I'm super clumsy and would never try to read on a treadmill. But the elliptical has a holder for a book/tablet, and if I go at a slower pace, I'm totally fine.

Get the toughest stuff out of the way first.
Geez, I hate doing big projects and assignments, so I do them first, so I can get them over with. It makes it that much easier to get through everything else. Not only does it cause for a shorter period of stressing, but it also gives you motivation to get through the easier assignments.

Make effective use of a planner.
Whether you're using something digital or paper (I prefer a physical planner), using a planner helps you to not over-schedule or forget things. Don't forget to schedule in breaks and time for yourself (and heed those appointments!).

Don't sweat the small stuff.
Seriously, I'm the worst at this, but it's so important to be able to brush things off. When something goes wrong, try to flip the switch and think of all the things that have gone right. Change your perspective.

Sip on something that will give you that extra push.

Make use of inspirational quotes.
Try this quick and easy DIY and create inspirational canvas art to place at your desk. Remind yourself of the good, and it can help get you through the day.

What you'll need:

Canvas board in any size (you can also use finished wood, metal, or any other material that you wish)
Acrylic paint and/or spray paint
Removable vinyl letters
Painters tape
Craft paper or newspaper
Sponge applicator brush
Acrylic paint sealant (I use spray)

How to make it:

1. Cover your work space with newspaper or craft paper to not make a mess.
2. Paint the entire canvas board (or other material) a solid color.
3. Set aside and let dry (I let mine dry overnight).
4. Using vinyl lettering, arrange your quote on the painted board.
5. Tape newspaper or craft paper in the corners or edges of your board to create color-blocking spaces.
6. Use an opposing color to fully paint the board (over the letters and to the edges of the taped corners). At this point, you can also splatter paint, stripe, dot, or create another design.
7. Let dry.
8. Peel off the newspaper or craft paper and the vinyl letters.
9. Spray the paint sealant over your design and let dry.
10. Voila! Look at that beautiful art you made.
