Married or not, you may find yourself alone at home once in a while with not much on the agenda. Instead of going out with friends and spending your money, you can choose to stay in and do other enjoyable activities instead. The dilemma may be that you’re unsure about what to do or how to use your free time. If you’re looking for some ideas then you’re in the right spot. Here you can review four ways to spend your time during a night in by yourself so that it’s rewarding, relaxing, and maybe even a bit productive.

Take a bath

One idea and way to spend your time when you have a night in by yourself is to take a warm bath. It’s great for your muscles and mental health and you’ll soon feel very relaxed and at ease. You can light some candles, up on some soothing music, and get lost in a good book as you soak in the tub. You may even want to consider turning it into a spa session by giving yourself a facial and painting your nails. This is an excellent way to reduce stress and regroup after a long week of work.

Cook dinner

Another way to spend your time during a night in by yourself is to cook a tasty dinner. One idea and recipe to make that will be good as the temperatures drop outside is this stovetop dutch oven chili. Cooking can be a relaxing and mindful activity to take on when you aren’t in a rush and can concentrate on what you’re doing in the moment. Set the table and have a nice and quiet meal alone after your dinner is prepared.

Organize your clothes & closet

Consider spending your time getting better organized at home if you have a night to yourself. Cleaning out your closet and sorting through your clothes is a great project to tackle when you have some free time. Try the clothes on that you’re unsure about and then make piles of what you want to keep, donate, and get rid of. I even use time like this to plan out my outfits for the upcoming week (or sometimes the upcoming month) - it makes getting ready in the morning much easier. You’ll wake up feeling happier that your clothes and closet are organized and you only have staple pieces in your wardrobe that you love and will actually wear. You may even be motivated to clean your entire bedroom while you’re at it and then when you’re done you can crawl into bed and get a good night’s sleep.

Watch a TV series or movies

When you have a night to spend by yourself then think about binge-watching a TV series or putting on some of your favorite movies. Change into your comfortable clothes, make some delicious snacks, and get cozy on the couch as you relax and take in all the action or drama. It’s a good idea to read reviews from other viewers online if you’re going to watch a new show or movie so that you don’t waste your time and you know it will be entertaining for you.
