Dads. They're stubborn, full of jokes, and a backbone of support for family. All of those things describe my dad. You know, sometimes he's a total butthead and will make me upset by picking on me, but he never means any harm.My daddy is a bear of a man and you definitely wouldn't want to get on his bad side, but he's truly a teddy bear.

I've mentioned it before, but back in March, he gave us a real scare. He went to the ER because he thought he had pneumonia, but it ended up that there was a mass the size of a lemon on his heart. It was over half the size of his heart. The biggest any of the doctors or surgeons had ever seen in that area. It was terrifying and heartbreaking. My family pulled together and through prayer and love for my daddy, he pulled through. He's back at home and doing well.

My daddy and I, we have a secret language. It goes something like "Hey, you know that girl that used to have red hair and now she's blonde? She's in a new movie with that guy that was in the Hangover." And from that, I can determine that Emma Stone and Bradley Cooper have a new movie together. It works the same with songs, directions, and places. My dad's kind of a pop culture buff without it being in your face. He also loves Judge Judy and the Paul Finebaum show. I once tweeted to Finebaum while dad was watching, so down at the bottom of the screen- over and over again - it keeps saying "@kaylakedavra: Hi, mom and dad!". I love that I have this goofy relationship with my dad. It's so much fun to be a part of my family.

I am so glad to have an awesome, supportive dad. I love him beyond words, and feel so lucky that he's in my life. Happy father's day, daddy.
