Fourth Birthday Adventures at BAB Workshop

Saturday, my nephew turned 4 and I had the huge honor of taking him to Build-a-Bear Workshop for the first time. Let me tell you guys, this kid is a hoot.

He really wasn't sure where to begin when we went into BAB, and it took probably 15-20 minutes for him to choose which "bear" he wanted to build. He wasn't understanding the concept at first, saying things like "I don't want this one, it's flat." and trying to grab the model toys from the shelves.

Luckily, there was a great sale going on on select styles to get two for $35, which was a great deal because some styles are $35 for only one. Jax is a big Minion fan (what kid isn't, right?), and the Minions were included in the 2/$35 sale, so he ended up with a Bob and a Stuart.

It took him a bit to get into the process, because I don't think he truly understood that he was making his own stuffed toy, but he started enjoying himself while making his second Minion. I think his favorite part was probably giving the Minions a bath, which is so him, because he's a real neat-freak. At the end of the visit to BAB, he even got to ring the bell to celebrate his birthday, which he seemed to think was super cool!

Regardless, he really loved that he went home with two new Minion-friends, and I personally enjoyed watching his experience. It was too sweet!

Have you taken a child in your life to Build-a-Bear Workshop, or perhaps even gone yourself? What was your experience like?

  1. What cute pics. Build A Bear is fun but I've definitely been stressed when taking more than one child hahha - what great memories to make with your nephew :)

    1. Yes. I can definitely see how that could be stressful. I had some support for just the one child. Lol!
