I love fall so much, even though it takes a while to really arrive in Georgia. We're finally getting some of those lower temperatures - especially in the morning - and I am loving it. We haven't ran our air in about a month, and it's glorious. I honestly can't wait for it to just get chillier and stay that way. I love bundling up in sweaters and blankets. It's really the best. And we usually don't even turn our heat on unless it's unbearably cold. We just wrap ourselves in blankets and go from there. I swear, there's just about nothing better than being really cold then bundled in blankets.

But with the chillier temperatures, we've got to keep Courage in mind when we're not warming the house up too often. So, it's the perfect time to treat the sassy girl with a blanket and some treats of her own. We have a couple fuzzy blankets that we love - but so does she. She will literally sit around and make biscuits in our blankets all day. So, I figured it's about durn time to make her her own blanket, which is exactly what I did. And it was fairly simple. Follow along below.

What you need:

Two yards of fuzzy fabric (fleece will work!)
Scissors

How you make it:

1. Fold your fabric in half and cut at the fold to make two pieces of fabric that are approximately the same shape and size.

2. Pin the edges to keep the two pieces together, then cut around the edges to create strips about 1" wide and 3-4" deep.

3. Once you've cut the strips, start tying the strips together until you've connected all sides of the fabric.

4. Voila! Now you have an easy, no-sew blanket that your kitty's bound to love.

The blanket's so easy to make and generally takes no time at all. It's great, too, because if you choose to, you can stuff it with plastic bags and/or catnip to really keep your cat excited and having fun!

We also make sure to treat Courage in a variety of different ways. In addition to the blanket, we opted to get her a whole gift basket and treats and such that she could enjoy throughout these colder seasons. With the holidays upcoming, it's important that we share gifts with her, as well as with the people in our life. We opted for items that are long-lasting (a cat nip plant, a few fun toys, a cozy bed, etc.) and great-tasting, like cat food made with real meats and no corn, wheat, or soy.

We like to provide Courage with both dry and wet foods, because a balance of both is important for a cat's oral and digestive health. We typically feed Courage dry food, but like to treat her with wet food once or twice a week. We went with PurinaⓇ MuseⓇ, because the ingredients are natural and it's risk-free. Purina Muse offers a Clean Plate™ Guarantee, because they are so confident in their product. If Courage (or your cat!) doesn't like it, Purina will provide a refund. While there are already so many great flavors to choose from, also be sure to keep an eye out for a new range of Purina Muse Masterpieces Dry Formulas coming in February of 2018!

What's also great is that Purina Muse products and all the items shown above can be found at your local Petco. We recently had a new Petco open locally, so it was so exciting to be able to find everything Courage loves in one place. Check out the cat market for all your Purina Muse needs. And for a limited time, you can get a free samples of Purina Muse wet and dry cat food by texting MUSE to 62066 (only while supplies last).

How are you treating your cat(s) as the weather gets colder and the holidays approach? I'd love to hear your ideas, too.

  1. I love hand making things for my cat- her favorite thing I've made was a cat scratcher made from an old box we cut into strips and stacked in another old box. She still uses it every day, a year later! You never really can spoil them (cats) too much, can you? #client
