As women, we are strong. There's seriously no doubt about it. There's so much happening in the world right now that proves we can handle our own and more. Whether you really believe it or not, I am here to tell you that you are strong, and so are the women you surround yourself with. Whether it's your sister, mother, aunt, cousin, best friend, co-worker - whoever it is, she is probably dealing with so many things; some you may know about and some things she may be more secretive about. Either way, you know she does a lot.

Saying all that, it's never the wrong time to treat another woman you know. By doing so, you're reminding her she's amazing and that her hard work does not go unnoticed.

I'm a big fan of providing practical gifts, so I wanted to share a great gift basket guide for female friends.

I believe it's important to include practical items such as pads, tampons, and pantiliners, panties, a small inspirational or colorful bag to place feminine care products in inside a purse or backpack, inspirational notepads, fuzzy slippers, and more.

Here are some of the items to consider when putting together a basket for a girlfriend, whether for the holidays, or just because.

Underwear: Okay, okay - so maybe this is a gift to provide to a special friend. Maybe a family member or a friend that's like family. You obviously wouldn't gift panties to your boss, but I love a great pair of panties, and when that period creeps around, it need hurts to have an extra pair handy. Am I right, or am I right? (Don't lie. We all have our period panties.)

Fuzzy socks: I love a good pair of fuzzy socks any time of the year. I literally keep a pair in my desk drawer at work, and I have a pair for every occasion (like the pair with pizza on them that I'm wearing right this moment). I think fuzzy socks make everyone a little bit happier.

Slippers: I'm obsessed with slippers with pompoms right now, but have several pairs, because I hardly walk around barefoot (that comes with ever having pets, lol). Nice slippers can make just about anyone feel a little more lush.

Bath bomb (or bath soaks, salts, etc.): It's never a bad time to relax - hop in the bath to soak, read a book, light some candles, enjoy your time not doing much of anything - that is a lovely time for anyone.

Pretty notepad: If you, or your giftee, are anything like me, to-do lists rule my day. It doesn't hurt that the notepad is pretty, so you won't mind using it to share notes with others.

Discreet cosmetic-size zipper bag: Perfect to hide away lady products. When I step out of the office or class to replace products, I don't tend to take my entire purse - I tend to tote a small bag to the bathroom to be a little more discreet during those moments. Plus, this keeps the products from getting all scrunched up in the bottom of your bag where they're hardly usable once you need them.

Feminine products: Seventh Generation™ products are practical because they do not have any fragrances and are free of chlorine processing.

A variety is of products is a good bet - Seventh Generation Comfort Applicator Tampons (18 count), Free & Clear fragrance-free Ultra-Thin Pads with Wings (18 count), and Free & Clear Pantiliners (50 count). This gives the giftee the options of which item(s) she prefers.

Seventh Generation tampons are brand new and BPA-free. Plus the tampons are Certified Organic Cotton and hypoallergenic. Plus, they are fragrance free, so they are made for the most sensitive skin.

Like the tampons, the pads and pantyliners are fragrance-free and perfect for sensitive skin. They're both also made with Seventh Generation's PureFit™ design, which conforms to the body for reliable leak-free protection and comfort.

Something else I love about Seventh Generation™ is it's sold at Target, so it's not something I have to take a special trip to buy - it's right there where I'm already shopping. It can also be purchased online and delivered right to your front door! Make sure you check cartwheel for some money saving deals!
