Well, I thought I was disappointed with the illustrations in Prisoner of Azkaban, but this Goblet of Fire disappointment is a whole new world of letdown. Don't get me wrong - I'm glad this illustrated version exists and I own it, but the wait for this book was twice as long and I felt like there were hardly any illustrations inside. Legit, there were entire chapters without illustrations. There were promises of more detail and more illustrations, which was the reason for the two-year wait for GoF, and I just feel lied to. Order of Phoenix is my absolute favorite Harry Potter novel, so I really hope the illustrated version lives up to my expectations, though it may be five years before it exists. Still I love that they're creating illustrated versions for the entire series. I just have high expectations, maybe?

Either way, there are beautiful illustrations and I wanted to share my favorite from the book. Reading the story in today's world was really tough. I cried a lot throughout the book - when the death eaters showed up at the World Cup, oh gosh it tore me up. GoF gets really social justice-y, so it was truly an emotional ride. Have you read it recently? What were your thoughts?

And without further adieu, here are my favorite illustrations from the illustrated Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire.

Are you a fan of the illustrated versions? What have been your favorites so far?
