7 gifts to get your mama this Mother’s Day
Friday, May 01, 2026
With Mother’s Day just two weeks away, it’s time to start last minute gift shopping for items to arrive in time to celebrate your mamas (or other mama-figures in your life). Keep reading for some ideas for gifts that won’t disappoint.
Jewelry is often a go-to when it comes to gifts for women, but my thoughts are that they sound have some particular meaning, especially if you’re gifting someone who already has lots of jewelry or prefers minimal pieces. Some pieces I find to be really fun or meaningful are:
- a custom name necklace - it could mama/mother/mom/etc or kiddo’s name
- another custom piece like these fun ones from Baublebar
- this custom name ring (see the name necklace for notes)
- fine jewelry stores or even box stores have premade pieces engraved or created with “mom” language and could be a quicker jewelry route
For newer moms, or at least those still holding onto their kid’s clothes, I’m obsessed with these custom pieces off Etsy. I ordered around 10 tops from this shop for O’s second Christmas and they’re still holding strong. They’re so special and sweet, and the shop owner was so helpful and easy to work with.
Another Etsy find is this unique and creative custom mug. Whether mama, mommy, mimi, or something totally different, the shop owner can totally customize for all the best moms out there!
If the mom in your life loves wall art, there are so many shops out there that create special pieces. We got a custom birth facts photo from Still Novel created for my mother-in-law after O was born. This year, I ordered this flower garden/family tree from Capri Studios. What’s great in both of these instances is you can get projects from both shops framed. If you’re looking for something more basic or more advanced even (framed heirlooms anyone?), Framebridge can totally create mostly any project you can dream up.

This diaper purse is so cool - no need for a diaper bag when you can carry everything in a crossbody. I love that this even has a space to easily grab baby wipes right out of the bag. Incredible, and perfect for anyone who likes to carry as little as possible around.
If mama likes to read, a Kindle becomes a must-have. I’ve always preferred physical books, but after having a kiddo, it’s become so much more difficult to read a physical book. I end up reading a lot on my phone, which offers an absurd amount of distractions, but a Kindle is better for your eyes and the perfect middle ground for reading when an actual book is harder to hold onto or to read in the middle of the night.
I’m also a big audiobook reader, so noise cancelling earpods are great for moms wanting to listen at any given time.
Ultimately with gift-giving, it comes down to knowing your recipient. She may like any numbers of the items above, but maybe she just needs some me time. Watch the kiddos and get her a gift certificate for a spa day, a trip to the movies, or a haircut. Maybe she likes more opportunities to spend time together as a family, so annual passes to the local zoo, aquarium, or activity center make the most sense.
Whatever you get for mom, put some thought into and I’m sure she’ll treasure it.
Moms, what’s on your list?
