This week was a weird one, to say the least. We had a bad weather scare on Wednesday, so the campus was closed, but it actually didn't snow, so I just got a day off from work no reason and only had to work a half-day on Thursday. It was really nice, but I'm now really behind at work. It was, like all weeks, a good week, and I once again made it through the whole week unscathed.

I tried a fabulous new tea. One of the girls at work shared some tea with me and it was amazing. It was Lipton's white tea with peach and mango. It was hands-down one of the best teas I've ever tried. It reminded me very much of Teavana's rose and champagne tea (which we all know I'd never buy because the prices are ridiculous!). I still haven't been by the store to purchase any, but I definitely plan on it. It was so good!



I got to see my nephew for his second birthday. I don't see him a lot. My sister and her husband live in Alabama, and once I got out of working there, I don't particularly like to go back. But my nephew had a birthday party, so of course we took the trip out to see him, my other nephew and my sister and brother-in-law. It was nice to get to see all my family in one place.


I got a day and a half off from work, like I mentioned above. It was nice to be lazy and lay around in my pajamas all day long. I got to sleep in with Andre, which was amazing. Plus, I got through an entire season of Friends (Is that actually a good thing? How lazy am I?).

I still made it to the gym Monday, Tuesday and Thursday even though Georgia was declared to be in a state of emergency. I am so proud of myself for making a habit out of going to the gym.

Andre bought me Jimmy John's on Tuesday. He just texted me and asked if I wanted it and then got it delivered to me at work. He's the best and I am so in love with him. (Food is obviously the way to my heart.)

This past Sunday, Andre and I went to the "Belk Engagement Party," which was just a small registry event. We went in, created a registry, scanned some things, and ate some hors d'oeuvres.
It wasn't a fun process, but it could have been. The service we received was far less than mediocre, while other couples around us were receiving great service. We'd already decided to use Target for our main registry, but we attended the event just in case there was anything really great going on.
The best news is we received a goody bag with some pretty quality stuff. We both received full-size fragrances (Rocawear for him and Beyonce Heat for me), a Carolee gold clutch, and a $25 Belk gift card.

It's late on a Friday night and I have yet to write a post about this week. It's been busy, to say the least, but I won't say it was a bad one. Here are a few great things that happened this week.

I got these great Minnetonkas for less than $20. Andre and I were at the mall, so we stopped by Journey's and these were on sale, which thoroughly confused me. These are spring colors, but they were selling them all down now. It was the last pair in my size! I can't wait until the weather warms up a little bit so I can start wearing my moccasins again (without socks!). 



I came home to a gorgeous bouquet of pink and purple flowers (complete with glitter hearts!). Andre also got me a $25 gift card to TJ Maxx. He loves me so much (and I just love him so much, too!).



On Valentine's Day, Andre and I went the less traditional route, and had a wedding planning day date instead. We went out to our venue, took some pictures, and shared some ideas. It was a beautiful day outside so it was perfect. We also went to Target and got some of our registry knocked out. Overall, a pretty productive day!


So, mostly my weekend was fabulous. The week was frigid and cold and busy. I'm shooting for a better next week. How was your week?

I mentioned a few weeks ago that I had received my first VoxBox from Influenster and I was super-excited about it. I received a couple of Pantene Pro-V's new "Full & Strong" items, including a full size shampoo and conditioner, as well as a travel size dry shampoo. I wanted to use the items for a couple of weeks before fully reviewing them online, so I could get a true feel for them.

I am lazy, so I tend to only wash my hair every other day or so. This shampoo/conditioner set is intended to make hair look more voluminous, so it doesn't really focus on hair being oily. While rinsing out the conditioner, my hair felt bigger in the shower (if that makes any sense). Generally, while rinsing my hair, it feels limp and stringy. That wasn't the case with this shampoo/conditioner, so I really liked that.
Once my hair was dry, it looked really good. It was shiny and had lots of body to it. Now, just to be clear, I don't do much styling to my hair. I use very minimal product in my hair (as in, shampoo, conditioner and occasionally dry shampoo). I generally wash it before bed, let it dry while I sleep, then straighten and/or curl it in the morning. So, it's not like my hair was an inch high and big like the lady on the box up there, but there was tons of body, so that was really impressive. Also, the shampoo/conditioner smells like apples (very similar to Fructis), so I really can't complain there.
The only thing I noticed was that the next day, my hair looked very oily at the roots. For those of you who wash your hair every day (are there any of you out there?!), this won't be a problem. Luckily for me, however, I also received the Pantene Blowout Extend Dry Shampoo, so I used that.
Shook it, sprayed it, rubbed it in, and brushed my hair. Other dry shampoos I have used have left a white, powdery residue behind (not good for my darker hair), and also made my hair feel stuff and weird. This one didn't do either of those things. My hair looked and felt freshly washed.

I would probably buy all three products in the future. I was very happy with them all. So, let's say 4 out of 5 stars!

This week started out a little downhill, and I had to climb my way out, but I made it through, and now it's Friday!

The donuts are heart shaped at Dunkin Donuts. This is always my favorite thing about Valentine's Day; hearts are everywhere, and I love hearts. I'm such a girly-girl.

Yesterday was the first weekend (probably ever) that Andre and I had a Saturday off together (the whole weekend off together). So, we made plans to go to the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. (Fun Fact: Bank of America customers get to go to the museum for free during the first full weekend of each month. This also applies to approximately 150 other museums in the country. More info here.) It was the first time we'd visited the museum together, and the first time I'd been back since 10th grade. It was a lot of fun, despite my having panicked having to walk up the four floors of ramps. We took pictures in basically everything that had a mirror in it, and just goofed around. It was amazing.


This piece was really incredible. It was huge satellite, covered in tiny mirrors, and when you spoke into it, it echoed across the room.

I started off Sunday by finding the perfect bridesmaids dresses... at Target... for less than $9 each! What?! It's unheard-of. They had them in all the sizes, so everyone was able to get one. Something else to check off the list! Here's a little sneaky-peak of the dress.


I got all of the save-the-dates hand-addressed. It took me several hours and I didn't get to sleep until 2:00 am that night, but they are all addressed. The sad part, I have yet to send them! Ugh, what am I doing? I have the stamps. I just haven't stamped them and threw them in the mailbox yet.


I received my first VoxBox yesterday! I was chosen to receive the Pantene Pro-V VoxBox, so I will be reviewing the product in the next week or so. I'm going to use the product for about five days straight before giving any product reviews.

In case you've never heard of Horns, it's a novel/film about a man who wakes up after the one-year anniversary of the brutal murder/rape of his girlfriend and he has horns on his head. People start telling him the most horrendous things, but when he's gone, it's like he was never there. But that's just a general overview. I don't want to ruin it for anyone, because it is a must see.

I took a quick trip to Target the other day (quick trip to Target, is that something that actually exists?). I found some super cute things, and with the help of my Shopkick app, I only had to pay $6.04.

Everything I got was in the Dollar Spot up front, so the jars and wire basket were $3 each (and I got the last of them) and the socks were only $1. Super cute, and I'm going to use them for the wedding (I'm not sure how yet)! And if you're not sure what Shopkick is, read below!

Saturday, I went out and about a little bit. It was the first weekend since the start of the year that I didn't have something I had to do, so I met Andre for lunch and did a little shopping. I wasn't in the mood to get all dressed up, so I did the opposite. I dressed down, but kept it somewhat structured. I wore my favorite sweatshirt with something leggings, but I thought it would be a good opportunity to share how I dress up my favorite sweatshirt, because sometimes life can get lazy and you just need to wear your sweatshirt.
