Like plenty of other women my age, I spend a lot of my free time browsing Pinterest. While looking for fun and effective ideas for getting fit (food and exercise), I found a really good idea for a (somewhat) healthy snack for when you just need that sweet fix.

In reality, Pinterest users don't always link back to their photos, so this idea I found was really just a picture and I just sort of made it how I thought would taste good. I like to call it creamy apple crunch, and it's made with only three ingredients: apples, peanut butter and chocolate chips.

Of course you can mix and match with different types of apples and nut butters and chips (chocolates, butterscotchs, etc.). But let's be honest, how many times do you come across a recipe and you've never even heard of some of the ingredients, much less have them in your pantry. So I'll stick to the basics; plenty of things you probably already have or at least won't be difficult to find at the grocery store.

So give it a try as an after-dinner treat or as a snack. It will leave you satisfied and full.

Creamy Apple Crunch

Ingredients:

1-2 apples (I used two golden delicious)

1-2 tablespoons of peanut butter (or almond butter, etc.)
1-2 tablespoons semisweet chocolate chips

A good thing to keep in mind with this recipe is that it's all about preference. There's really no right or wrong way to do this. You want to base it of what you like.

Directions:

1. Cut up your apples into medium size cubes and place into a bowl.
2. Microwave peanut butter for 30 seconds (or less, depending on how much you use). Be careful not to burn the peanut butter.
3. Pour melted peanut butter over apples.
4. Sprinkle chocolate chips all over the top.
5. Enjoy!

So, super easy and lots of wiggle room. Let me know how you like to mix your's up!
