Well, I know this is the gift guide you've all been waiting for... My own personal wishlist - the gift guide for Kayla, if you will. Call it selfish, but I love putting together my own wishlists and putting all my thoughts together in one place to look back on for later when 1 want to treat myself to something. So here we go... a look into the things I've been wanting to buy myself but have held off on just for this moment.

Three drawer bedside dresser

I've had the same bedside table for over 10 years. It's one that I bought from a coworker when I first moved out of my parents' house. It's wicker and has a big indention in the top where it's been beat up over time. It's definitely time for something new. I really love the look of this mid-century chest of drawers, but I'm not too picky honestly. Our bedroom furniture is actually more of this espresso brown-black color, but I'm quirky and happy with most colors that would fit in the space.

Pour-over coffee maker & electric tea kettle

I've mentioned previously that I love experiencing and trying new ways to make coffee. Lately I've been using a french press, but I've tried pour-over coffee a few times and I think it's my favorite way to make coffee. So I definitely want a pour-over coffee maker, and an accompanying electric tea kettle to most easily warm up water to use with my pour-over coffee maker. This is one of the very top items on my list.

Rose quartz face roller & microneedle facial roller

I've actually started a true skincare routine consisting of mostly Eight Saints products, and I've even started using a Foreo Mini.  But I really want a rose quartz face roller to alleviate puffiness and improve elasticity, and a microneedle facial roller which helps skin to better absorb serums and moisturizers, and can help stimulate hair growth on the scalp.

Compact/fold-up stationary exercise bike

One of the very worst things about working from home (because hey, I like it) is that I'm nowhere near as active as I was when working on campus. I'm not parking and walking. I'm not walking around campus or to the downtown area around campus. So I would love a fold-up stationary bike so I can use it during work, reading, or watching tv. But it will be easy to store out of the way when not in use. This is one of the very top items on my list.

Vibrant orange daily conditioner and vibrant yellow daily conditioner

Having orange hair is fun but also take some maintenance. Even washing my hair only once or twice a week in cold water can only help me keep the color for so long. It's unfortunately already starting to fade. So Overtone's vibrant orange daily conditioner would help with a refresh often. The vibrant yellow would help me keep the tips a bit lighter so my hair looks like a beautiful vibrant flame.

Thick and cozy crew boot socks

As opposed to the very popular fuzzy socks, I am a huge fan of boot socks. They're thick, knitted, and usually fun to slouch down. Many of my favorites typically come from American Eagle, but I'll gladly wear any boot socks I can find.

Wireless earbuds

Hi, I'm Kayla and I still have wired earbuds. I like to listen to audiobooks while I do chores and cook, and often the wires are totally in the way. I would really love a pair of wireless earbuds to be a bit more convenient while I listen to my books. These Sudio Tolv earbuds in green are so freaking cute!

Plush heating pad animal

I get the worst period cramps and often create a makeshift heating pad with a wet microwaved towel. But I would love to have a cuddly heating pad to help with my cramps. But it could also be used for those inevitable neck and back cramps I get from being on the computer all day. Cute little piggy heating pad, I need you in my life.

Bamboo bath tray with book rest

Something I've wanted for quite some time is a bathtub tray, and now that I have a large bathtub, it's finally the right time for one of these trays. I love the bamboo style trays, but certainly need one that has a fantastic book rest because of course the entire purpose is to make reading in the tub even more effortless.

Plant babies

No Kayla Gift Guide is complete without plant babies. I'd love a Christmas cactus, which are usually at any grocery store for less than five bucks. But I'm happy with any greenery. I love greenery of any size, shape, and breed. They just all make me so happy.

Super fun and quirky planters

And last, but certainly not least. I love fun and cute and weird planters. I often will use just about any vessel I can find - old candle jars, thrifted coffee mugs, candy jars. But I always enjoy actual planters with drainage holes, and I'd love to support more small businesses.

See anything you'd add to your list too?

  1. I always love reading other people's wish lists! I'm hoping for taco holders, a pizza stone, & a gift card to work with a dietician.
