There is no shortage of great options for travel in the US. This post will share a bit about some of the best of them, and a few that often get overlooked. LA and New York are obvious options, so we’ve left those out in order to look at some of the cities that are not quite as appreciated. Read on to find out all about them.

San Francisco, California

For people based in the western states, San Francisco is a great city to build a trip around. It’s a little more relaxed than LA, but still has beautiful coastline, interesting history, and great weather. There’s so much to explore and enjoy here, whether you’re planning to take it easy or fill your trip with all kinds of activities.

New Orleans, Louisiana

New Orleans is the city known for Mardi Gras and jazz music, and these are things you’ll definitely want to enjoy while you’re there. If you can book your trip to coincide with Mardi Gras, you’ll see exactly why so many people talk about it so much. It’s a lot of fun, the atmosphere is incredible and you’ll have a great time from start to finish. New Orleans has obviously suffered incredible loss and damage recently due to Ida, so traveling right now would provide a great opportunity to volunteer and help with many of the efforts needed to rebuild the city again.

Savannah, Georgia

Savannah is a tried and true southern staple. Chances are, if you live in the southern states, you’ve visited before. It’s the kind of city that’s old-fashioned and timeless. Tybee Island, often referred to as Savannah Beach, is a place you’d go to relax and unwind, while Downtown Savannah has great nightlife. The people are great, the historic architecture is stunning, and the food is always good, so it’s definitely a good option to consider.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Philadelphia is the biggest city in Pennsylvania, and it’s a city that’s definitely worth your time. If you haven’t visited it before, now is the time to change that. It’s where you’ll find the very best Philly cheesesteak (duh!), and that’s reason enough to visit. There’s also a variety of galleries and museums, many green spaces, and a party atmosphere during the summer months. Be sure to give it a chance.

Las Vegas, Nevada

We couldn’t finish off this list without quickly mentioning Vegas. It might seem like an obvious pick, and it’s not for everyone, but it’s damn good fun. When you want to party, let your hair down, and do the kinds of things that you’d never do back home, Vegas is the place for you. And as they say, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.

There are so many fantastic cities in the US that are worth your attention. Whether you’re traveling from overseas or you’re simply looking to explore your own nation in more depth, these cities all offer something unique and an experience that you won’t be likely to forget in a hurry. So start planning your next trip right away.
